13 Reasons Why… You Should Go To Camp This Year
13. Chocolate Milk
One of the best things to have after a hard day of team competitions, camp chocolate milk is not your regular chocolate milk. It always tastes great and is something to look forward to!
12. Meet your crush
Maybe this is your year to finally meet the person of your dreams. What better place to meet “the one” than at a church camp? You can only hope to meet someone this year at camp!
11. Awesome Camp Shirts
Every year the shirts just get better and better. What’s even better is trying to get everyone on campus to sign your shirt. How many signatures will you get this year?
10. Water Days
Who doesn’t love water balloons, giant slip-n-slides, or water kickball? It is a great way to cool off, win some points for your team, and to have a blast! Water Day is coming, are you ready?
9. Color Wars
Color wars are an epic way to win some team points and hit your friends with color at the same time! Color wars will be a bit different this year. We’ve improved this year. Who’s ready?
8. 9 Square in the Air
Like 4-square, but in the air and 9 times better. 9 square in the air is an awesome way to spend some free time and impress your friends.
7. Winning Talent Show
Have you dreamed about showing off your hidden talent to thousands of screaming fans? Well, the next best thing is to play in front of a few hundred of your camp friends. If you’re lucky and good, you could win the talent show.
6. Day Away
Pine Lake. It is a tradition for senior high camp where you can swim, jump off the high dive, or battle it out in sand volleyball- just remember to bring plenty of sunscreen.
Rugged Adventures. A new spot for junior high camp where you can traverse across the tower, play laser tag, or play some bubble soccer. Who’s excited for the day away this year?
5. Getting to worship with some awesome bands
Returning again to senior high camp, Woody and the band will be leading us in worship and will grace us with their awesome music.
We will be joined by IWU for junior high camp worship. We love worshiping with IWU!
4. Great Friendships
We all have those friends that we see for a few days a year and only see at camp. Maybe this year you will make a new friendship that will last a lifetime! Either way, friendship are made and strengthened at camp!
3. Winning Team Competitions
This year, team competitions are involved in everything. From rec time to afterglow, point will be awarded for everything-possibly even who can eat their food the fastest. On top of all, the winning team gets an awesome prize at the end. Who will win this year?
2. Awesome Speakers
Chris Wilson is our senior high camp speaker this year!
Chris is a graduate of Bethany Bible College from Fredericton, New Brunswick Canada. He has been on staff at Victory Highway Wesleyan Church since 2010. He is married to Rachel and has two young children.
Gabrielle Engle is our junior high camp Speaker this year!
Gabrielle is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan with a degree in Christian Ministries and Biblical Literature. She will be graduating with a Masters of Practical Theology from Indiana Wesleyan, this spring. Gabrielle desires to equip people to live in the freedom and truth that the Gospel offers.
Besides journaling at coffee shops and going on long walks in nature she finds great joy scuba diving for pirate treasure. She also loves hanging out with awesome teenagers and showing them that we are often "far too easily pleased." God has a greater life for us and offers it abundantly.
1. Grow your relationship with God
Camp is an awesome place to have fun and enjoy yourself, but it’s also a great time to grow our relationship with God. This is the most important thing you can do at camp all week. Are you preparing yourself now and praying for God to work at camp this year?
