One throw can decide a game. One shot can be the difference between a win and a loss. 20 seconds can be the difference in someone’s day or life.
When I was playing Ultimate Frisbee in College, there were a few key moments I can remember where I had a split second or two to make a decision that would result in a block or another point. When my captain would talk to us he would always tell me to take the risk and make a big play when we needed it most.
It’s the same way when we are talking to our friends, it takes just a few seconds to really impact our friends or to invite them to church. We often miss these chances because we are afraid what they may think of us or we are afraid to take a risk.
We have to remember in the moment that God is the one who saves people and works on people, but we are called to take the Gospel of Christ to a dying world. (2 Corinthians 5:18-20; Matthew 28:18-20)
See, it doesn’t take an expert or someone who has it all together to invite your friends. It just takes you!
